Sophie Lockhart is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Kettering, OH who has a passion for music and a heart for people. She grew up singing and playing piano, but picked up saxophone and acoustic guitar later in her life, opening doors to new styles of music that began to shape her sound. The more she invested herself in music, the more she fell in love with its healing and inspiring qualities, and the way it truly acts as a universal language. At age 14, Sophie began seriously writing her own songs, and at age 18, she began recording those songs to the best of her ability in the comfort of her dorm room at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Sophie constantly seeks out opportunities to grow as a songwriter, including attending workshops and receiving song critiques from Tauren Wells (Royal Tailor), Chad Graham (Anthem Lights), Luke Dejaynes (The Madison Letter), Bellarive, Mark Harris, and Babbie Mason. Sophie also frequently performs at BellHOP Café and other venues around Ohio and Tennessee, and she is aiming to release an EP by the end of 2016. Her goal is to use music to impact others the way music has impacted her, and maybe even make a few people smile along the way.
