Demo:

Liner Notes:

This was for the "Complete List" skirmish that @andygetch is running on Facebook. This one got away from me a little and kind of just ended up as a complete list of thoughts?

This is me working through some stuff through song, my like "Hold on For Better Days". My therapist is going to be VERY proud of me.

I think this one could definitely use a full arrangement and this demo is rough but this will do for now. There's a bridge though so there's that!

On this track:
Vocals
Ukulele

Lyrics:

Verse: C am em
Chorus: G dm am
Bridge: dm am G

Verse
Every morning
Feels the same
Nothing's really wrong
No one to blame
Gray clouds
Fill the sky
You lay there
Wondering why

Chorus
There's a darkness
That settles in
You can't let it win
Keep your head high
Got to keep moving
You have to try

Verse
If you give in
You may drown
It's so hard
When you're beaten down
But can't
Throw your hands up
There' s a world out there
One full of love

Chorus
There's a darkness
That settles in
You can't let it win
Keep your head high
Got to keep moving
You have to try

Bridge
Quitting's not an option
For you
There's too many things
You need to do
You'll find
Another way
Just take it
Day by day

Chorus
There's a darkness
That settles in
You can't let it win
Keep your head high
Got to keep moving
You have to try

This is nice and really great for a skirmish song. It sounds great as it is. A full arrangement it on it would be pretty cool though if that ever gets made. There's a lot of room in this for some cool orchestration and movement. Really enjoyed the entire thing and the hopefulness in the chorus. Great stuff!

Lovely, uplifting lyrics. The minor chords work well in not making this a "rah rah" song. Great great work for a skirmish!

Another good one. Very topical, i think these issues will go for a long time. Love the uke. Nice.

Really like this! Uke sounds great! and you've somehow made me not smile with a uke tune, not in a bad way at all......as Corinne said, I think it is just all the minors droning away doing their job. agree with AEye too, lots of room for some really cool movement in here, but sounds really amazing as a whole as it sits here, might be one you listen to later and like a little more, once not so fresh Wink Your vocals always sound great, but the contrast in V/C here is especially well done.

I love how this song hangs in the happy/sad balance both lyrically and musically. Hurray for self-psychotherapy and thanks for playing!

This is a wonderful song that captures that line we often walk on the edge of darkness as we strive to hold on to the light. The ukulele is great for this song with the finger picking and strumming and vocals are superb. Love the both the honestly of the reality as well as the uplifting message. Really relevant today for so many reasons.

Love the ukelele sound you're getting, with the reverb and all--but would REALLY love this with an acoustic guitar. This is a really great song--love the lyrics and, again, I love the accompaniment.

I think 50/90 is therapeutic for us. I wrote a bunch of darker than usual lyrics last weekend (to be set to music next week), and I think it is a sign of the times. Thank you for the "therapy" today!
