Demo:

Liner Notes:

Working on learning to improve my skills with midi and VST instruments, still much to get a handle on.

Lyrics:

VERSE:
It's time to step over
The line that we've drawn in our minds
The heat we expel
From our anger and fear is a sign
Decide to walk in silence no more
Eyes wide open and stepping through the door

CHORUS:
Free Yourself
The burden is not real
Free Yourself
The only way is to let yourself feel

VERSE:
It's time to leave behind
The mornings we woke up all alone
The room still in darkness
Ghosts on the wall set in stone
Won't ever forget how the story goes
But from now on won't wallow in those throes

CHORUS:
Free Yourself
The burden is not real
Free Yourself
The only way is to let yourself feel

i think maybe as one becomes more skilled at manipulating virtual instruments, the results become less interesting. the sounds and arrangement in the first part of this song are very creatve. the second part is more accomplished, but less compellong to the adventurous ear. good work though, and the song itself is very good.

Love those chorus lyrics Smile This had a feel of the middle east to it I think, which emphasises the words in the lyric (for me it did anyway).

Interesting to hear how well the world beat percussion sits in a more straightforward rock track. Drummers get a lot of stick (aha!) but the quest for more adventurous beats means that something like this doesn't actually come as much of a surprise, at least compared to how unusual and interesting the initial use of the virtual instrument (a duduk?) instead of a guitar sounds. Does this mean it's the drummers who are pushing the boundaries of popular music the most? Blimey, whatever next?

I was sorry to hear the guitar solo fade, because guitars.
