Unobtanium

Liner Notes:
When the Week 7: In the style of ... challenge was posted, I immediately thought of @metalfoot's periodic table series of songs. A couple FAWMs ago, I already wrote about dihydrogen monoxide, so I was looking for another semi-mythical element. Unobtanium it was.

Indeed this is my style and my sort of thing. The only thing which would make it more me is a partial capo on 2! LOL Well played, sir!
this is totally metalfoot's style haha. well done!
haha nice one. this is a fun prompt. nice pay off there! with not getting it.
clever name for a mythical element, im going to have to obtain me some,
Oh man, you nailed it! Rhyming unobtanium with "plaid geranium" and "let me explain-ium" is just so good.
This is absolutely fantastic and fun! I love this new element and I truly think you have channeled Alex so well! Absolutely brilliant!
Brilliant! (And I love @metalfoot's element songs.)
Exuberant vocals, and a really cool guitar sound.
Clever and funny ... I love images like "the forest of pink elephants" and "metal feet of men." Music is catchy as heck!
Avatar came out in, what - 2009? And I am *still* annoyed by the laziness of the writing team in picking "unobtainium" as the Macguffin driving what little there was of the plot. But even so, I couldn't help but smile as I listened to this. "That's the point - you can't" is a gorgeous metatextual joke with which to end. But "Let me explainium" is a masterstroke worthy of Tom Lehrer. Play this in Filk circles, and you'll be a superstar.
