Liner Notes:

Listening to Sarah Shook and the Disarmers and I just HAD to write a country song... I just HAD to.

Lyrics:

Whenever I look up towards the heavens
I always see dark clouds in the sky
I never see the sun shine perfection
Gloomy weather always gets me by

And the rain falls down
Night time lasts forever
I listen to the sound
Rain is my only pleasure
Staring at the puddles on the ground
The rain falls down

Whenever I wake up from the whiskey
I try to wipe the darkness from my eyes
Raindrops on the window is always pretty
I need it more than I realize

And the rain falls down
Night time lasts forever
I listen to the sound
Rain is my only pleasure
Staring at the puddles on the ground
The rain falls down

We were standing in the dim moonlight
Watching stars on a cold December night
In the morning you drifted away
The doctors said you were better off this way

And the rain falls down
Night time lasts forever
I listen to the sound
Rain is my only pleasure
Staring at the puddles on the ground
The rain falls down

Love the fuzzy rhythm gtr tone. The way the chorus ends unexpectedly is distinctive and I like. The doubled vocal in the chorus is a nice touch. Good solo.

this has a credence clearwater revival vibe, but plays somewhat smoother. you cant go wrong with songs about rain. i like the formalism of the structure, and the bridge is especially fine.

Very satisfying chorus! I especially like the doubled vocals. Nice lyrics too.

This is a great, solid country tune. Really nice job here. Your higher toned vocals contrast the sad tone of the lyrics very nicely.
