Like an Ant

Like an Ant

Liner Notes:

I always wanted to write a song about myself using the metaphor of an ant in a much larger picture.

Lyrics:

Like an Ant

You could flood me with the world's troubles
Drop a safe on where I sit
But the one thing that many don't expect
Is that inside me is a lot of wit
I'm microscopic to the universe
Just another face in the crowd
But when a crisis hits I'll navigate my way
Through any storm cloud

Like an ant
Like an ant
I'm more durable than I look
Like an ant
I'll survive
Another chapter in the people book

If this life is a test of problems
A dangerous obstacle course
Then I will find a way to go around
Whatever is coming at me with force
I'm one of millions of other humans
Who deep down no one really knows
Just a dot observing the ongoing conflicts
Taking what life throws

Like an ant
Like an ant
I'm more durable than I look
Like an ant
I'll survive
Another chapter in the people book

Attempting to strike me down will only make me stronger
I hold out for something better and will wait a little longer

Like an ant
Like an ant
I'm more durable than I look
Like an ant
I'll survive
Another chapter in the people book

Really nice lyrics, well crafted. I especially like the opening line “ You could flood me with the world's troubles”

I like the fierce determination in the lines coming from the point of view of the narrator. I just wrote one that kind of offers someone else "advice". I think this will sing well. And the contrast of the verses and chorus change it up real nice. This line made me chuckle: "Another chapter in the people book".
