Written during the skirmish allotted time today, to the prompt of “I’m Alright.” I was already in the act of sorting out a new progression just before 3:00, so I decided to make the title fit, and came up with this notion of my life if we’re still working from home when the cold sets in. A sweet cozy feeling.
Couldn’t come up with a third verse in time, so just repeating the first for now. Recordus interruptus for about an hour. I’ve messed around with harmonies, but didn’t nail anything I liked. I think this will be one of those 10,000 pots that taught me something but didn’t earn a place on the shelf.

In the morning my feet are frozen
I look at you and you’re sweetly dozing
it’s time to get up and put the coffee on
after I get all the animals off me
I’m gone…
I slide my wool slippers on
crank up the heater
fill the birdfeeder,

This is wonderful, a slice of life that's really engrossing. Some sort of alternate tuning there? shades of that kind of joni mitchell vibe for sure.
And I gotta ask--- frozen?.. in July? (are you in the southern hemisphere?) here in nyc it's hot!

Open tunings mostly suppose mixolydian harmonies and lots of suspensions. The images make the story here.

This is like an audio diary entry that people could listen to 500 years from now and learn something about life in the early 21st century. The music and vocals are really nice.

And I love the melodic lilt to your vocal. Also, super interesting guitar - folky and familiar, then exotic. Great song - great to hear you again!
love your voice- I love your comment about the pots and the ones that did not make it on the shelve- you can make another song out of that. I like the simplicity of the song- friendly easy listening music and it has a great groove. Love how you bring ordinary things into the song like birdfeeders and crossword , slippers.

There are not enough songs about that cos maybe they're not what's considered "dramatic". Psh! This is magnificent. Perfectly encapsulates my perfect day.

Your voice is amazing but your guitar work is the perfect companion. Like a Jodi Mitchell song, your voice seems to reach through time or from some magic fantasy world, but the guitar playing kinda rocks, gently. Just active and energetic enough to withstand repetition and you seem to play perfectly with just enough texture to feel human (not too perfect). It’s trancelike and very beautiful to listen. Thanks!

Simply gorgeous images of everyday things. You raise them all to a new level in the lyric.
And indeed, I hear Joni Mitchell in your vocals, moreso than ever before, I think (at least that I've heard). Full of understated but very clear joy, the song is a delight.
I loved this image: 'After I get all the animals off me'. A lot of folks will relate to that.
So Joni Mitchell - do you play alternative tuning at all. Let me know if your keen on a collab - I write in alt tuning but don't have the vocal range to exploit it like you can/could. Love your voice.
