Not the only warriors

Not the only warriors

Marilisa's picture

Liner Notes:

Starting a skirmish at midnight when you live in a flat means a cappella only and very quiet singing into the mic...

They are not the only warriors who battle on the field, who swear themselves to duty, who bleed upon the sand.

They are fighters too who heal the heart, soothe the soul, hold the hand.

Those who keep the fires burning are heroes too protecting the land.

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

A *round* for a skirmish. Wow. Great work! Impressed.

nice round indeed - well done clever skirmish

Ooh, nicely unexpected. And there's something about the near whisper that seems appropriate. Like the Valkyrie on the field of battle just out of earshot.

Great work. I think the whispered vocal gives a gentleness to your tribute to the warriors. Sleep well.

Very nice! Your round works great both lyrically and musically and the soft recording is really nice!

Oh, what a lovely idea (and lyric)! Interesting how physical circumstances will force a musical direction. Wink I agree with tcelliott about the whisper feeing appropriate.

Really fine take on the challenge, and a good solution.

Thank you for taking part. Smile

Gotta agree with everyone else, that “whispered” vocal gives the song emotion and a real intense feeling to it. Excellent midnight work.

Ah, I see. Yes, there are many types of warriors.

Interestingly, I don't really think of warriors as people who go to fight, and bleed, and whatever. Being a warrior is more the courage inside to jump to unknown.
