Demo:

Liner Notes:

Started just prior to 50/90 but I finished and recorded it today, July 4th.
This song uses some secondary dominant chords which isn't exactly new for me, but something I'm trying to incorporate a bit more of late.

Lyrics:

Your suitcase sat by the open door
You had my love but you wanted more
You had me in your spell
But now I wish you well

Can't stand the sound of you walking away
And the words you refuse to say
I don't know if you can tell
Yes, I wish you well

It doesn't matter now that you are gone
Away from me where you belong
I can't help but blame myself
Still, I wish you well

I don't care why you're walking away
Too proud to beg, but I want you to stay
You're putting me through hell
Of course, I wish you well

It doesn't matter now that you are gone
Away from me where you belong
I can't help but blame myself
Still, I wish you well
I can't help but blame myself
Still, I wish you well

Lovely sound for this heartfelt lyric. You are one of the best break up song writers I have heard. Great opening line sets the stage. Wonderful guitar lick. Great hearing you again.

As everyone else noted, love the guitar lick. A great little breakup tune. It's a great start to 50-90, TC.

Sweet and emotional, and the unadorned guitar-and-voice works perfectly with these words. A lovely song, and absolutely hummable to boot!

Like the Guitar work... Beings out the feeling and holds the vocal. A little key change on the ending could be used to spice it up and close it out in that emotion feeling at the end

Those guitar turn arounds are lovely, very Maggie Mae. A perfect "goodbye and good luck" song. Enjoyed.

Really nice song. Good, tight lyric, simple but conveying so much. That guitar is mighty pleasing to the ear.
Good work. Smile

The intro riff is sweet!

And I like that drop round the third line of each verse. Gives the song so much character!

I really enjoy your vocals on this one. You're such a good singer now!

Great job!

That secondary dominant is the special sauce on an song that already had a lot going for it. Nice riff. I like your take on the classic break-up song; the sadness and disappointment are in tact but you've injected some strength and health into it. Really well performed, too.
