prompt bench

When I firs read the prompt I wasn't sure I had anything but then this fell out. I love skirmishes!

Guitars: Guild D-25

On My Bench

I wish I had a bench to sit on
A place to rest my tired old bones
A comfy seat to pick my git on
Even if I have to sing alone.

Put it out of the sun
It's cooler in the shade,
I can lean back just like I got it made
Bring me a glass of that pink lemonade
I got a powerful thirst to quench
Sittin' on my bench.

There's a choir of birds singin'
Like I'm sittin' in a pew
I'll set my bench a swingin'
A glorious thing to do
I can sit there all day
Just enjoying the view
If the rain comes I might get drenched
Sittin' on my bench.

Cool bluesy groove and riff that is a perfect bench for your wonderful lyric and vocals to rest on! Perfect sitting on a bench enjoying the day song. Really delightful!

Looking at the lyrics...I wish I had a bench to sit on...lol. Yeah, a nice song about sitting on a bench...definitely meets the criteria. Sitting in pew...lol. Alright, excellent...enjoyed the lyrics very much. Ready for the audio now...hold. Guitar intro...vocals now...sounds good...lyrics flow nicely...can clearly understand....solo slide guitar now...sounds country...Nice leaving the building music and vocals...well done.

Lovely relaxed feeling in this. It starts as a daydream but soon the dream is so vivid it takes over and " I wish I had a bench" becomes " my bench". That to me is the essence of happy blues songs: they are never real but always imagined. Really nice solos and huskiness in the vocals. This is fun to listen to. Bonza skirmish entry!
