Liner Notes:

I would've appreciated a couple of ladies on back vocals, some brass, violin & cellos and a guy ho looks and plays like john lee hooker but they all seem to be busy tonight.

Lyrics:

Am 7# 7 6
I'm just a star floating in the vicinity
Fmaj7
with a pinch of psychoactivity
Dm E7
hard to memorize my name
Am E7
I've forgotten the rules to these games

F7
simple actions
E7
wild attractions
Dm E7
we'll never know
Am
how to grow old

I'm just an insect buzzing in your cupboard
reciting Spencer and humming Schubert
slight mischief is in the air
and knightful affairs

I'm just a holygan in the street
where all parallel affections meet
invite them home for a drink
let them dance with pink punk queens

G7 Cmaj7
we limit the editions
A7 Dm
of our oversynchronized neurotransmissions
Bb7 Am
all professors of philematology concur
G#maj7 E7#9
no perfect mind is never disturbed

Love the guitar/chord progression and more Jazzy Blues than Motown to me, the vocals are seductive. Well done!

i hear this as being closer to jazz than motown somewhere between mose allison and van morrison. the style fits mose but only van could handle the lyrical sophistication.
