Cindy's lyrics are based on a true story! I tweaked them here or there - not much.

The Angels Will Take Me Home
© 2019 Cindy Prince

She'd been sick for quite a while
It wouldn't be long now
She told her kids not to grieve too much
Then said, "Do you hear that sound?"

They said they couldn't hear it
She smiled a gentle smile
Told them it was harp music
And in a little while

"The angels will come to get me
They've told me I am their own
I wish that you could see them
As they take me to God's throne
Angels will take me home
Angels will take me home
...home"

In a little while she was gone
And just as she closed her eyes
Her children thought they heard music
As she headed for the skies

"The angels will come to get me
They've told me I am their own
I wish that you could see them
As they take me to God's throne
Angels will take me home
Angels will take me home
...home"

Coda - harp solo

Oh Susan! I have chill bumps and am in awe! This is one our best and such a wonderful message. Thank you so much for this!

Some how the 2 versions of this got mixed up or put together...weird. I fixed it now - this is the short version w/o the extra stuff on the end. No idea how that happened. I will send you the longer version by email!

Lovely harmonies in the chorus - dare I say "angelic". This has such a bittersweet effect - the contrast between the sweet music and the underlying subject matter.

Oh this is so beautiful in all respects - the acceptance and beauty and sadness of the life transition so brilliantly expressed in words and gorgeously delivered in music. I was listening as I sit outdoors by the lake which was a beautiful place to take in the sentiment of this song. Love your lyrics, Cindy, and Susan your piano and vocals, especially with those harmonies, always reach in deep.

I think beautiful is the word that best conveys what I've just heard. I am in awe. This is touching in so many ways. I appreciate the spiritual aspects of it in addition to the sentiment of losing someone but still having hope. This is blessed. No doubt in my mind. Beautiful piece, my friends. Lovely.
