Liner Notes:

I strapped a microphone to my girlfriend's head and just recorded her singing along to a metronome, and the seed of this song was in there in a few places. She's awesome.

Some harmonizing and robotic-pitching later, this came out. Very happy!

Lyrics:

What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound,
but only when sound is around?

What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound,
but only when sound is around?

Groups of colors
for a beat
next time I hear it
completely different colors
for the same beat
makes no sense this language is fluid
always changing
what can you do
about it
there's nothing
you can do
it's hypothetical

hey hey
talkin' bout a language with colors and sounds
I think that these rhymes are gonna abound
there's gonna be so many rhymes and so many signs
that I'm a do a rap break
a rap break

you can't say rap break in your rap break
that breaks the rules of the takety take
you have to shut that one down and take it around
and show it where the town is

think I don't see you roll your eyes
think I don't see you roll your eyes

What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound,
but only when sound is around?

What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound?
What if colors were sound,
but only when sound is around?

What an original idea. Isn't there a condition some people have where words and sounds do have colors? Seems like I saw something like that on 60 minutes. This song is electronic gold!

@Susan Cantey I think that's called synaesthesia or some such?

Great bouncy beats here. And all the robotic bounciness of those vocals!

RAP BREAK. I need to do a song with a RAP BREAK now. Biggrin

I love how this has a modern while still 80s feel to it.

Quite cool method used; just really neat.
Love the music to this and the robotized and effected vocals are awesome.
Kept me engaged throughout.
The solo at 1:57 is everything.
Whole thing sounds friggin awesome.
I seem to associate music with tastes - like candy or fruit or juicy stuff. lol I dunno if there's a term for that but its what happens to me!
This is a bit juicy with the high leads and the effect you put on the vocals, but also chunky chocolate due to the drum pattern and heavy kick and snare. All tastes good lol

This is a really clever concept that was assembled in a really clever way. I totally dig this track and I can hear super duper potential in it. If you're interested, swing by my page and listen to "Wilmas & Bettys" and email me at nuj4x@outlook.com. Let's talk about this track and what its ultimate form could be.

Yes! Love this groove. This evolves in such an awesome way - and it is a wonderful backstory on how you created this with your girlfriend. The repetition is so effective. The interplay of layers is perfect against the beat and synth. The vocal effects work really well. Really enjoyed my listen!
