Liner Notes:

This is somewhat autobiographical, as I love to see if I can spot an egret, or heron at the water's edge. I would love to do a collab on this one.

In the Mist

Barefoot she runs
Mud oozing through her toes
She goes to the water's edge

Evening has begun
She lets loose the day's woes
In among the wind-swept sedge

Quietly she stands
Seeking out the young egret
Her eyes turning in her quest

One with the land
This is her special secret
As the sun starts to set in the west

Just as the sun is sinking
She sees the bird standing in the mist
She watches him as he is drinking
She is thankful she has gotten her wish

Peacefully she strolls
Up the hill to her cabin
As the first stars begin to shine

She instinctively knows
And is blissfully glad in
She's a part of something so divine

Repeat chorus

This is such a beautiful lyric, you paint the scene vividly. The mud oozing between toes is a particularly arresting detail.

I love the imagery, the mud oozing through toes, the beginning of a sunset, the stars. You conjure up the picture very eloquently.

So thoughtful and descriptive girl and I learned a new word, "sedge", great rhymes and structure and I can feel "you" in it.

This resonates with me. I've been so happy to see both the bald eagle and the blue heron populations doing really well around me. It wasn't like that when I was a kid. River cleanup has helped. It's so calming just to go out to the water and watch them, isn't it? And I like your use of multiple senses... especially the oozy mud!
