Lyrics:
They say that money is the root of all evil
But what if it's embedded in our soul?
Our roots plunged in the earth, to suck it dry
But we rear our heads when we see mother cry
We'll continue, until the constant collapses,
Until the crust cracks and the heavens collide
But when the end is at our doorstep
We dare to lock the door and hide
Will it all be worth it?
When the heavens come crashing down
Will it all be worth it?
When reality becomes abstract
Will it all be worth it?
When we're disconnected from time
When we're disconnected from what we were
Overgrown, greed and growth
We wage our wars
And use the victims
To stay afloat
We'll take everything
And make it our own
We invented the chair
Only to call it our throne
Progress,
At the expense of others
And in the name of "love"
We keep fighting our brothers
Afraid to look back,
Not wanting to see
What we've become
Only to leave our weeping mothers
Will it all be worth it?
When the heavens come crashing down
Will it all be worth it?
When reality becomes abstract
Will it all be worth it?
When we're disconnected from time
When we're disconnected from what we were
Will it all be worth it?
After mother received us
And embraced us in the ground
For then there will be truly peace
Accompanied with neither silence nor sound

I don't think it will be worth it. This is so spot on with some great lines! Nice writing.
A bracing protest song. "use the victims to stay afloat" took my breath away, with the images of drowned asylum seekers coming to mind. The roots sucking the earth dry is another strong image.
Really great lyrics, and the title caught my eye. I love the message (so needed!), and the part "We invented the chair / Only to call it our throne" is my favorite!
This song has brilliant lines in it:
"We invented the chair; Only to call it our throne"
"And in the name of "love"; We keep fighting our brothers"
"And use the victims; To stay afloat"
Very powerful imagery, very powerful song with a lot of potential to be stronger, but this bit got me the most:
"But when the end is at our doorstep, We dare to lock the door and hide"
