Liner Notes:

I've listened a lot to the good old Tangerine Dream stuff such as" Phaedra" or "Stratosfear" and asked myself if I could manage to make similar music - but all acoustic! So I just let it flow freely. It took me six hours to do this 17 minutes of music. I used some reverb, delay and phasing effects to make this sound more otherwordly. It's all recorded in first take.

So here is "Tangerine Dream Unplugged" - more in a "Berliner Waldorfschule" vein as classic "Berliner Schule"! Wink

Instruments (in order of appearance): voice, tenor flute, recorder, acoustic guitar, harmonica, western guitar, bongo, conga, hand drum, darbuka, xylophone, glockenspiel, melodica.

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

What an impressive bit of work! Very ethereal, epic in its scope, really, and fun that you did it all with acoustic instruments and voice! My hat is off to you, sir!

Let's face it, anything tagged "Tangerine Dream" is going to get a listen from me. And acoustic or not, this is definitely worthy of the tag. I love the haunting flutes, the playing with delay, the dripping wet, lush reverb, and the evolving guitar riff that gives structure to everything. The phased vocals are such a trademark touch, I love it! Your description of this as "Tangerine Dream Unplugged" is right on the money. This is *so* much my sort of thing and very obviously a labour of love, so bravo, sir.

Wow. Was that really seventeen minutes?

Epic.i never thought I could sit and listen for that long. But it went by quickly and you created a very authentic atmosphere. Felt like another planet. Very effective. Very good work.

I know some of Tangerine Dreams classic era work, enough to notice the similarities in the structure and enjoy them. But what brought me here was hearing this right after your Humming Song on Soundcloud. First the hissing and other sounds, then the recorders, just lovely. I really like the strong atmosphere the music generates. To make acoustic TD music is very fresh and innovative and to make it last 17 minutes is amazing.
