Lyrics:

Fender Telecaster

Well, I walked into a Nashville pawnshop
Just after my long working day was done
I asked, do you have any guitars Pop
Said, here’s a Fender Telecaster son

I peeled off five twenties and took it home
Tuned up the strings and then heard with delight
The sweet sound was full with each pick and pull
I knew Mister Fender made guitars right

(Instrumental)

Thanks Mister Fender for music rendered
I used to play your guitars through the night
I’m thankful to play songs loud or tender
This Fender Telecaster’s outta sight

I was feelin’ down and not in my prime
Til I played again that Telecaster
Then my darlin’ said play it one more time
And I didn’t even have to ask-er

(Instrumental)

Wrote lots of songs for fam’ly and friends
Of hobos, Old Crows and honky tonk queens
Young kids, some forbids and roads without ends
All played on Fender Telecaster strings

Thanks Mister Fender for music rendered
I used to play your guitars through the night
I’m thankful to play songs loud or tender
This Fender Telecaster’s outta sight

Really slick wordsmithery going on here. Tele’s are my favourite of the electric guitars. We own 6 of them on our guitar ‘farm’ Biggrin the thin line being the most special. I hope you find someone to music this up for you with good guitar chops for those instrumental sections!

Well, I like this one. The telecaster our protagonist paid $100 for (back when you could get some old Fender for $100) is probably worth $8,000 now.

I'm a young guy, so my telecaster set me back $300. But it has been a faithful sidekick for a long time now.

This is going to be a very fine tune, I like it a lot.

Ditto on the save list - gonna pick through tonight and as I have the time. I just hope the ones I skip over aren’t “the ones” Smile hahhh However, I do read and write amazingly fast so will hit them all for the skim hit read.

I guess every year is different, of course, — connecting with songs for musication is one of those mysteries of life. To many folks don’t get that, take all the writing classes you like, that connection happens or not.

The difference here too is, your up front flexibility; that makes a big difference. It’s so much easier to do and agree rather than explain then do. I’ll guess you spent allot of time realizing paths to take.
