The Abyss

Head pounding
I'm losing ground
Slip-sliding into hell

Imagined memories
Had taken on life
I'm now under death's spell

It's dark-I can't see!
Why is this happening to me?
Is it self-inflicted?
So dark, so wicked
It's the kiss of death
The abyss!

I'm in the midnight of black
Is there any way back?

I can't think
I'm on the brink
I am spinning into oblivion

Does anyone care
About my despair
Don't know if I will live again

Repeat chorus

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

You nailed it! (Maybe I should write more songs with a headache!) Both eerie and emotional-just like I imagined!

sounds great in the headphones with one of your voices going into one side of my head and your other voice going into the other side.

The guitar is very pretty a lovely juxta to the lyrics. Nice one.

Pure hypnotic vulnerability and darkness to the vocals. Perfectly done you two

Excellent interpretation of these lyrics! I like the spooky echoey vocal, the sparse and pretty guitar, the dramatic flourishes of percussion and sobbing. Well-done collab - words and music equally effective.

Spooky, haunting and in perfect prosody with Cindy's lyrics.

Getting a late start, and just in the process of uploading my first one. ALWAYS love your stuff and Cindy has really inspired you with these lyrics! Great job with the video. Where do you get those backgrounds? Do you set stuff up and film them yourself? What software do you use for the video? Great job, ladies!!

I can relate to Cindy's lyrics because I have a migraine head from my mother's side. The lyrics really convey well the desperation and the physical nature of pain. Maddie's done a wonderful job creating a dramatic and varied landscape of sounds and music. Successful collab you two.

If only you could see the expression on my face right now. This is all kinds of amazing. The mood, the lyrics, the performance, the all comes together so well and so...eerie. Not sure why, but your vocals here remind me of Joe Strummer. This is blazingly good, ladies. Nice work!

Very dark and creepy as always, Maddie. And you and Cindy make a good team. The head hurting until you feel like your dying part I can relate to. I get migraines. Wonderful job, the both of you.

Suitably eery sound to go with the lyrics, which is enhanced by the sound effects and percussion. Brilliantly done.
