Liner Notes:

I've been doing a few noise rock songs over the spring and had this awesome idea...... that turned into this. *shrug*

Lyrics:

I saw your picture posted
Stapled to a telephone pole
You looked so sad and lonely
Even though you were missing
So I volunteered to help
Searching in the frigid cold
Someone said we had to stop
Then they began insisting

My heart starts beating faster than the
Ace of spades in a bicycle wheel
Rolling ever onward, faster
Spinning, gravity pulls me downhill
Tick, tick, I hear my heart racing
A hundred beats away from trouble
Still I stand, I look and I stare
As my will slowly starts to crumble

I remember the night we found you
Lying out in the field
You still looked so lovely
As our tears were falling
And you know I think I fell in love
Even though we never met
And as the years are racing by
I can hear your mother calling

My heart starts beating faster than the
Ace of spades in a bicycle wheel
Rolling ever onward, faster
Spinning, gravity pulls me downhill
Tick, tick, I hear my heart racing
A hundred beats away from trouble
Still I stand, I look and I stare
As my will slowly starts to crumble

A different style for you, TC. I think this works interestingly well -- the echoes and the noises create an unsettling feeling even as the melody tries to tell you 'everything's going to be OK'.

very different. Interesting - how do you handle all the speed changes would do my head in!

Um. Hello? Come in? Who's there. Hello?

Oh, yeah, here we go. Delightfully disorienting in that second stanza part. If I wasn't already sitting down, I might topple over. I dig the noise. Especially the guitar that's on its own program in the background. Good movement. Yeah, let your weird hang out.

Very memorable lines, can't forget that ace of spades in a bicycle wheel. There's a lot of tension in this and I like that here, so the experiment really works. Also, the lines ' You looked so sad and lonely even though you were missing' were very amusing to me Smile

There's something so disturbing and disorienting to me about the fact that the song and the percussion/noise are all going at radically different BPMs that bothers me enormously but also mesmerizes me so I can't stop listening—which pretty much exactly mirrors your subject matter. Like another commenter, I also love the lines "My heart starts beating faster than the / Ace of spades in a bicycle wheel" which feels like a clever nod to Bicycle brand playing cards on top of everything else that's great about it.

Interesting that a few comments started off with this song being a bit different from your familiar output. Beautifully strange is what I would say it is. Initially this song reminded me of Silly Love Songs because of the syncopated machine sounds at the beginning. I like this experimental approach. I'm inspired to try something like this myself. Keep exploring different avenues my man. Your creativity is endless!

Oh yeah, really great musical bed here for sure.
I'm loving how everything is doing its own thing ("Click track?!? What click track?!?")
Really nice effective lyrics, too.
Yup, I certainly enjoyed this a lot!
