Lyrics:

Nothing Is Amiss At Missing You

Crosswords, nothing is amiss at doing crosswords
Even though I stop trying when about two thirds
I tell myself that I insist I don’t miss you
Doorbell, nothing is amiss with my old doorbell
Even though it stopped ringing where only I dwell
I miss you, nothing is amiss at missing you

Nothing is amiss at missing you
I try to dismiss my crying too
I knew this would be making me blue
Nothing is amiss at missing you

(Instrumental)

Window panes, nothing is amiss with window panes
Even though I stare out of them and call your name
I insist to my mind my heart is not in pain
Coffee, nothing is amiss with my morning brew
Even though I forget how many spoons go through
I miss you, nothing is amiss at missing you

Nothing is amiss at missing you
I try to dismiss my crying too
I knew this would be making me blue
Nothing is amiss at missing you

With so many thousands of lyrics under your belt, it's probably no surprise you're taking on adventurous rhymes such as 'crosswords' and 'two thirds'. Keep blazin' that trail, Cowboy! I love this stuff.

Thanks Stephen. But, writin' these lines, sometimes my circuits get a little crossed too.

Agree with Bill! Excellent hook. Glad to see you are back and sharing your amazing talent with us all

Hi Deanna. Thanks. But I will always be convinced that ones who know music and good singing are the amazing folks.

Great hurtin' song and lots of power to that hook of 'nothing is amiss at missing you'.

Thanks metalfoot. I think it may be hurtin' to come up with another hookie line. We'll see.

Miss, amiss, dismiss... well played! Really effective chorus and great cadence. Some cool unconventional rhymes as well as effective use of familiar rhymes. Strong hook and very catchy feeling chorus. Strong start!
